What i did the day after i resigned from my first workplace was flew from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Lombok International Airport. But classic story happened. Long delayed flight. When i landed in Lombok, it was too late if i want to continue my trip to Gili Trawangan. I stayed at Kuta Beach for that night.
Not a good start.
In the morning, I crossed to Gili Trawangan by small ferry boat. Then suddenly everything happened really well. The ferry captain introduce me to one of the passenger who actually work on a hotel. I decided to stay at that place because actually i had no plan. The place is beyond my expectation. It was nice, clean, and very quiet. I forgot the name but it was infront of the turtle's breeding place. One of my luck, this place had its grand opening that night. So, free flow for all drinks! :)
Hours before, I spent the first afternoon by walking at the seashore. As i mentioned before, i had no plan at all. I realised later at night that the day after was the first day of Fasting Day. No wonder there wasn't many local tourist.

The next day, I woke up and still had no plan. After long time done nothing, i had this thought to do snorkelling. And in my personal opinion, I enjoyed snorkelling in Karimun Jawa much better than in Gili. The water in Gilis are deeper than in Karimun Jawa, so the coral reefs are high and the fish is so far down there. I got some scratches on my left foot because I went deeper in order to see the fish. Maybe it would be better if i dived rather than snorkelled. But since i didn't had any diving license, so yeah.... However, the fishes were more colourful than what i saw in Karimun Jawa. It was like those fishes I saw on books.
But seriously, those Gilis were really such a place for doing nothing but stare. There was some kind of atmosphere that made you felt comfortable even if you did nothing. Everything pleased the eyes. The sea, the sand, the wave, the clouds, the trees, the boat, wherever you're looking at. The time went slowly. The Gilis made you calm and at peace as if you don't have any struggle in life.

The sun went down and I thought I wanna see the sunset. So I went to the other side of the island by riding bicycle. Earlier than others. But that day wasn't the best day to saw the sunset. It was cloudy. I wasn't able to see the sun disappear at the horizon.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay here longer. I have to go home.

Not that "fun" trip, huh?
I'm not looking for fun stuff back then. I was looking for happiness. And i always know that happiness is one day at the beach.
Long story short, right after I landed at the airport, I checked my e-mail and I got this mail said I had to attend a briefing for new employee on my new office.
New chapter in my life begin.
Thank you for giving me a piece of peace to start my new chapter in life, Gilis. I'll see you again when I need your help to find that inner peace
